As a professional with humble backgrounds, Isaac Jesumbo realized early enough that he had to do more than the average if he would have any chance of fending for himself and his family members. Today, after finding a path you would soon discover, he now hosts seminars, webinars, and conferences like the Digital Explore Conference, which is transforming African minds, one conference at a time. Professional History

In 2015, Isaac Jesumbo ventured into website design. The decision was borne out of the desire to have a skill to fend for him while he pursues his tertiary education. It was during a career talk that was held in a post-UTME preparotiry class where he was asked what he would do in school to financially provide for himself that he chose website design. At the time, he didn’t know much about it but Isaac has this relentless spirit that doesn’t give up until he achieves a goal and that was how he persisted till he became good enough to learn the skill. It is important to note that despite not having knowledge of web design, he had already become familiar with the use of digital platforms. This was a classic example of playing to one’s strength, as he could read more books online than he would in hard copy.

Despite the challenge of living in a mission field where the internet network was erratic, he wouldn’t stop studying online but what promise did the tertiary institution offer him?

Life often has a way of disappointing our expectations.  When he got to school, graphic and website design didn’t particularly bring in the money. The major challenges were that most clients were put off by his prices, couldn’t trust a stranger or were not convinced that a designer outside Lagos could do a great job. Even though he acquired his skill in Lagos, living outside Lagos was a major detriment, which rendered most of his proposals to hotels and private institutions rebounded. After several unsuccessful tries, he finally got his first gig for only 3000 Naira, which was around $9 equivalent about eight years ago. He had to use a pre-created template for the personal website; he struggled to receive payment because the client would refer him to an acquaintance who was owing him. This was when Isaac Jesumbo realized that website design may not put food on his table given the circumstances. Shortly after, he would meet an interest prospect who showed him a part of a digital marketing course and boom! A spark whose effect lingers to date would be created. 

Although he had had several interfaces with digital marketing, this was his first real exposure to digital marketing and affiliate marketing. Knowing his background, he wouldn’t stop at the videos he was shown. He would get up at night and buy nighttime internet data to enable him to learn more on his own. It was so frequent that he was nicknamed “Night Sub” in the hostel. This lingered for about two years till he purchased a course on digital marketing for the first time in 2019. Although he had already started trying his hands on digital marketing aspects like blogging in 2018 and selling an eBook on website design, it was only in 2019 that he had the confidence to ask for digital marketing gigs, thanks to the course he bought.  Although poor WiFi reception hindered him from accessing the full course, the parts he got access to made him realize that free content doesn’t have the clarity that comes with paid courses.

In 2021, there was a big turnaround in his professional experience. It started when he got a mention from an influencer at the time who was a Nigerian living in the United States. He had helped her resolve a challenge and she mentioned his expertise to her followers. This would lead him to get a lot of gigs from the United Kingdom and the United States, consequently improving his finances. Earlier that year, his viral post on a popular Facebook group for forward-thinking professionals brought him some gigs on web design and digital marketing, which set the tone for the rest of the year.

Although 2023 came with some unpleasant moments that made him stay offline, towards the end of 2023, he got more than he ever had in the past. A feat he attributes to God. Now, he builds websites and helps individuals and businesses maximize their digital presence using digital marketing. His client reach spans West Africa and across the Pacific and North Atlantic to cover the United Kingdom and the United States.

Current and future projects

In 2024, Isaac Jesumbo received a vision to host the Digital Explore Conference. Inspired by God’s direction, the conference was fueled by Isaac’s passion to teach people about maximizing the opportunities in the online space, which was also a means of dissuading young people from the prevalent internet fraud or internet-aided prostitution. During the maiden conference in 2024, these issues were addressed and older attendees were encouraged to create more opportunities for the younger ones.

In the meantime, Isaac Jesumbo is working tirelessly to recreate his courses for a global audience in order to expand his reach. Beyond that, several mind-blowing projects are on the way that will be shared soon.

Fundamental Beliefs

Mr. Isaac’s most fundamental belief is rooted in God and God’s ability to help him have a great life. This is why he ties his professional success to the help of God. This belief is fortified by bizarre experiences where certain individuals come to him, telling him how a compelling force made them offer him gigs—a force Isaac believes to come from God. Due to this, Isaac prioritizes prayer and a dependent relationship with God.

Secondly, Isaac believes he is a king, even though he rarely says this to anyone. This ideology of royalty made him a person who values integrity. He is known by his clients to keep his word and deliver on his promises. That trait has gone on to generate several referrals from his satisfied clients.

He also believes in the duality of time as a punishment and as a blessing, and also its role in predestination. If, for instance, there was a time destined for one to make millions in revenue and they did not make it in that time, that grace might be lifted and taken to another time where that person would struggle to get it. This belief is one of the reasons he puts his best into achieving a goal, as that unfinished goal can stop the achievement of others.

Additionally, in the past, he worked excessively and sought to be in control always, stripping him of rest. At the moment, he just enjoys the work that he does without allowing himself to get overwhelmed. This is because the works of our hands ought to bless us and not cause us pain. Right now, he makes self-care plans for taking care of himself besides keeping money aside for investments.

There are other fundamental beliefs but these are his foremost.

His life-changing experiences

One experience that formed an anchor of Isaac Jesumbo’s life is his family background. Coming from a poor background where feeding was an issue and seeing how much expectation family and friends invested in him, he knew he had to get serious.

Also knowing that academics alone might not offer financial security in a third-world country, he had to find other financial vehicles to make it easier for him to cater to his needs and those of his family members. This was why he took the bold step to purchase a digital marketing course in 2019. It was a product of a dream he had where he was preaching and saw signs and wonders happen. Before the dream ended, he heard a voice asking him to go on a fast. Although it was his first time going for a 3-day dry fast and getting sick from it, results did not come as fast as he expected. However, he received instructions that have influenced his progress. That period, he solicited for funds from his helpers and one of them asked him to use the money to treat himself at a hospital but he sacrificed and used out of that money to buy the first digital marketing course he bought.  That was the major turning point in his life.
